if we go by market cap to sales ratio then at current pricing of burger King of Rs 130 , price of barbeque should be Rs 1300. Both are in red at present, popular brands ,same Fy 20 sales and are in same sector but post issue number of shares of barbeque are 10 times less than burger. But I will not like to apply in such shares in current scenario. Happy Holi investors of Barbeque and others

NIIT buy back may open only in next financial year in April. The seem to be delaying to benefit promoter entity to defer the capital gains to next financial year as there is no capital gains in buyback. It is also possible that shares may have been sold by interested parties after record date earning profits. So on announcing the dates next month, they can buy at current price of 148 levels.
Retail investors like us buying at 180~200 levels are trapped by blocking capital inordinately. With current lower price, almost every shareholder submitting acceptance ratio likely to be few percentages higher than entitlement ratio. Profits on accepted shares will be much less than the loss on remaining shares. We need to be careful in going for buy back. Only PSU buy backs are normally beneficial..
Ou Ai ji, I completely agree with your views. Thank you very much for your message. Amit K Singh ji, thank you very much for your kind caution. I am also holding good quantity of NIIT shares purchased @ Rs.202/-. Of course, the resultant loss would be set off against the profits earned on buyback of shares of previous occasions. Sometimes it happens. We have to digest and proceed. Thank you.
Dheeraj Luthra ji, thank you very much for your kind information.

As expected and stated earlier, NIIT is opening buyback in April 2nd week. Announcement on 31st March resulted in share price hitting 20% upper circuit ending at 165. Appears many with prior knowledge sold it earlier and bought back later as yesterday''s volume crossed 7 million on NSE. Having purchased equal quantity at around 143 levels , with difficulty managed to have an average price of 175. This may be breached on Monday and share may go to 190 to 195 or even more before opening buy back. Will exit 80% of total quantity of this stock with reasonable profit , if it touches around 195 instead of tendering entire lot at 240. It appears that even small shareholders tendered quota may get oversubscribed, with poor acceptance ratio. Balance shares may fall steeply with successive downward circuits effecting massive loss. The way this buy back is managed raises multiple questions on plight of small shareholders blocking their money at higher price inordinately with prices plummeting and played around. This experience tells, it is better to avoid mid & small cap buy back benefits and stick to large caps like Infy, wipro TCS and PSU ones.
Fully agree Ou Ai with your view. One should only apply in PSU , large cap, quality companies for buy backs. Buy backs of size more than rs 500 crore is generally considered as safe...

Btw, A 100% AR was recorded in Indian tonner buyback , money was credited on 25th Mar in individual''s account. Thanks.
Aniket ji, somehow I missed to purchase the shares of Indian toners and participate in the buyback. No problem. Waiting for future good chances. Thank you very much.
Buy back play is like buying into a lottery, though in a lottery you can lose your whole capital. We are in a bull market, just buy any blue chip company for short term if you are really looking for short term gains which is not a very smart idea.
hi, i have a confusion regarding SOTL buyback. i was having some shares of SOTL on record date. but i got a mail from SOTL stating that the number of shares entitled for buyback is zero. now the question is can i still apply for buyback and get accepted some shares in the buyback by any chance? please help

If number of shares held is less than to permit even one share as buyback entitlement , then zero entitlement is shown in offer letter. It means entitlement is in fraction. On tendering preference is given in accepting at least one share. More if acceptance ratio is higher due to other shareholders not tendering.
@Ramakant I Have sold IRFC 575 shares @24.85 after टेकिंग डिविडेंड of Rs 603, there is no upward and downward as per market but due to govt co good divided paying co ,

Share market ki koi gaandit nahi hai. Jo mil rahaa hai lekee nikal loo nahi toh long term long term kaa ronaaa suru ho jaataa hai. Jaise share ki chaal waise logo ki jubaan.
Iam Avoid This IPO।
