Though I am not sure, I think that there is a better chance of allotment as selection is made on the lottery basis among the segregated groups (for example, 10 to 13 lots one group like that)of the said category.
Due to over subscription in retail category, It’s pointless to apply more than 1 lot from one demat account, as even if allotted, you will get only 1 lot. So in retail category apply 1 lot each from each demat account.

SBI released funds around 1:55 pm in one of my accounts for Motisons. And you have just 5 minutes to apply as SBI closes shop at 2pm. Very lazy. Now, I am going to shift to PNB.
@antarix , shift to private banks. Usually they release funds very quickly. You can explore options like IDFC/AU/Axis. All three are fairly good in early unblocking.
off topic: I have been puzzled by one thing lately. I am a small retail lots investor and I want to re-invest the profit of IPOs (which are only meant for listing gains) if allotted. I was thinking to re-invest the profit in "buy and forget" kind of stocks. Can anyone please suggest these kind of "buy and forget" stocks?
Or is there any better way to re-invest the profit of such IPOs other than "buy and forget" kind of stocks? Please share your valuable inputs.
Thanks in advance.
P.S.: I don't deal in secondary market and hence, I don't have much knowledge about the same. For investment, I have been doing SIPs in MFs on regular basis.

IMO keep applying in IPO and don't invest directly in secondary market . You can increase Your MF portfolio from the profit earned in ipos. Rest is your decision....
If you're getting allotment in good companies then you can take out investment amount and hold profit shares for future. Or else I suggest you can go with dividend paying stock ( T&C apply ). {Experts views on this.? 🤔}
@Sleeping lion , If you don't have much exposure to secondary markets. I would recommend you can buy more Mutual Funds/ETF's with your IPO profit money whenever there is a fall in the market.
When i apply from retails quota i get mail from BSE for application submission, but when i apply in HNI quota i do not get any confirmation mail. I am using HDFC ABSA for IPO application. Is it normal to not get email confirmation for HNI quota IPO application ?
I also use HDFC ASBA, sometimes i also not received BSE confirmation but doesn't make any difference....all depends on luck whether we get the allotment or not.
jaha retailer ko allotment milta hai waha listing gain kam hota hai jaha retailer ko allotment nahi milta waha jyada hota hai ye jaadoo samazh nahi aaya abhi tak

It has probably happened for the first time that Kotak has not unblocked funds for ASBA applications as of yet. Kotak usually does debiting/unblocking by morning 10 /11 a.m.
Anyone using Kotak Mahindra and for whom the funds have been unblocked/debited for Motisons?
