Listing expected at 30-35% as per GMP but as considering it was oversubscribed 100 times, can we expect rise after listing. Let's see

Listing can be below on going premium. Downtrend in grey activities.

* Inconsistent numbers
* Major part of the IPO is offer for sale , Fresh issue is 128 Cr & OFS 470 Cr
* Post issue share holding , below 50%

May be they are following some of the financial IT companies(indian also) model eventually, like restrictions on trading certain securities, trading during blackout periods, pre-clearance for trades.
May be prevent to prevent conflicts of interest and insider trading.
Ex: In my company we have many restrictions, because we get to results or big contracts(won/lost) bit upfront, which might, change the stock price. So we have to declare all US trading accounts from us and family if any, it will monitored.
Lucky its listed in US, no restriction for indian trades as of now.

This is not fair and they should put these rules only working in SBI securities

​@Rajiv RR Which demat service provider employee or family opts for is beyond the prerogative of SBI. Government employees are not permitted to do F&O trades but they are allowed to apply in IPOs and invest in securities too. This move by SBI is more of dictatorship and should be challenged.

PS : Have no family members employed in SBI. I am only long-term shareholder of SBI and wish my company deals fairly with its employees and their family members.

Yeah, but I dont think they would have got the rule on the fly, they might have seen some issues or something.
Mostly there will be provision to take exceptions, but accounts it will be monitored.
Also, in the short term, SBI has to give some benefits or charges waiver, so that employee move back to SBI. Or else it might be tricky.

Monitoring of employees accounts itself is questionable. Secondly the family member operates through Zerodha or SBI Securities, why should SBI be bothered about that !!

​@Chhote Lal  It may be true as I heard in one of big MNC tech corporate as employees being asked about details of demat acs and holdings etc.
There might be some circular or instructions sent to corporate to avoid insider trading which does happen every now and then. With more youngsters getting into the market , the desires for getting rich fly_by_night galore . It cast aspersions on the image / brand of the corporate as well as impede the growth of an individual.

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) scrutinizes trading activities, particularly during crucial occurrences like earnings declarations, acquisitions, and other significant events affecting a company's value that could substantially impact their stock prices.

Here issue is different. The bank stated the reason to be that it needs to establish a system where it can monitor or place restrictions on employees’ stock market activities. This directive is due to the fact that the SBI Group provides trading and demat services through its subsidiary, SBI Securities. The bank’s circular directing officers and award staff was issued as employees and their family members opted for demat accounts outside the Group.

Is it fair to put such restrictions concerning service provider choice of demat and broker account ? Going by this should we infer that all government employees will be asked to send their children to only government run schools? 🤔

​@Chhote Lal  I really doubt this could be the reason as it's legally, structurally and ethically wrong on part of any good corporate governed entity. Even if they offer all employees the benefit of SBI demat still the freedom to have external association remain with employees.

When SBI card was issued for offical travel and expenses to us as corporate associate bring part of our conglomerate, we had no objection as there was freedom to have personal cards from any source.
I think we should wait for more clarifications.
An analogue to what you said about schools , can Havells and Philips on earth force employee to buy ONLY their products. Or Zomato asking employees not to use Swiggy 🤔🤔Somthing is amiss !!!!

What I read correctly now with statement of GM asking to get permission before opening external demat account so it's not prohibited or banned as such.

This may be repercussion of some malpractices observed as Bank employees for years have been found indulging in trading overtly and covertly compromising their job work , I can say from my personal experience too.
