Just to bet that lesser number of applicants in higher lot category might increase chances, but even if it does, the ratio of allottees is the same which is seen in minimum lot category (in this case, 67 lots). Plus there are always chances that lot category might not go into lottery if its too high @rahulkrjain

That's because eventually there isn't any higher advantage for more number of lots. So what it seems it is, it actually is. @rahulkrjain

​@rahulkrjain Sir, applying higher lots in bHNI than minimum sometimes offer better chances of allotment but is not always beneficial. Let us understand it through BoA (basis of allotment) of Go Digit ipo recently concluded.

In bHNI, min shares allotted are 770 (or 14 lots) to min shares application of 3685 (or 67 lots). Here ratio of allotment was 19:31 (or ratio of 1.63). Now check sl. no. 6 here for 72 lots, ratio of allotment is 1:2 ( slightly better than that for 67 lots). However, for 76 lots (s.no. 1001) there was just 1 application and hence not considered in lottery at all.

If you have funds for only one SHNI then go for 5 retail..

If have funds for 5 SHNI then go for SHNI..
