South India based Aptus Value Housing Finance India Ltd has fixed price band for its initial public offering of Rs 346-353 a share. Earlier, the non bank lender said its IPO will open on 10 August and close on 12 August.

Aptus has been founded by M Ananda, former chief executive and director of financial services businesses at Murugappa Group.


The IPO comprises a fresh issue of Rs 500 crore and an offer for sale of 64.59 million by its current shareholders and promoters.

The company''s offer for sale comprises sale of 2.5 million shares by Padma Anandan, 19.76 million shares by Aravali Investment Holdings, 28.38 million shares by JIH II LLC, 10 million shares by Ghiof Mauritius, 3.72 million shares by Madison India Opportunities IV.


At the upper end of the price band, the lender will raise around Rs 2,780 crore at Rs 353 each.

About 55% of Aptus is held by private equity investors—Westbridge Capital, Sequoia Capital, Steadview Capital and Malabar Investment Advisors.

The object of the offer is to augment the company''s capital base to meet future capital requirements.


As of December 2020, the non bank lender had 181 branches with total assets under management of Rs 37.91 billion.

Better buy is Repco Home Finance in similar market available at much attractive valuations

P/E around 73.
Very high price. Avoid.

PE is around 63 and not 73. It is comparatively lower than Aavas which is at 76. Both Companies are excellent performers in their geographies. It is a very good long term bet and should not be missed at its current pricing.

Very expensive issue. You need to compare Aavas IPO pricing not current. If current price is to be compared then buy Aavas as there will be no lockin for buying or selling which exist in IPO
IPOs are priced cheaper than peer group to compensate for 10 days lockin risk

Even though they have good growth track record, Issue is priced at 63 P/E, expensive valuations.

Business is similar to home first finance, which was corrected a lot after listing.
Home first issue valued at 50 P/E, correct till 40 P/E.

In home first case investors got some 15-20% listing gains being a small issue size as compared to aptus.

In Aptus case demand is very poor and valuations are very expensive..don''t know where it lands (gain/discount).

Invest wisely to avoid any losses.

I am from Tamilnadu I have seen the branch offices of Aptus. Building locations are no comparison to HDFC in fact even below Muthoot Finance and only above pawn shops.

As per the site, 14-16% interest rate for home loan. No doubt,thats why the financials of company is robust. Any was as per who.is site was registered 10 years back and updated in July 202.
Considering current market conditions, this IPO is not for listing gain/ Short term. Long term investers should evaluate as per their own parameters. NO A MUST APPLY IPO.

One can skip it given low fancy and high price book ratios
