dear septa ji please tells us from where we can know about total number of applied application in ongoing IPO. plz tells us name of website/ link/ any other sources
number of application is not public prevue however number of share applied can be checked from NSE and BSE website http://www.bseindia.com/markets/PublicIssues/IPOIssues_new.aspx?expandable=4&id=1&Type=p http://www.nseindia.com/products/content/equities/ipos/homepage_ipo.htm
dear septa ji ek permanent message hona chahiye her ipo ke front page per jisse ye clear ho sake ki jyada lots mei application apply ka koi fayda nhi jab issue one time se jyada over subscribe hota hai, maximum member ko abhi tak ye concept hi clear nhi hai ki allotement kis base per hota h , maximum log ye hi message karte rehte h ki 10 lots apply kiye , 12 lots apply kiye aur kitni lots ki allotement aa jaegi. please basis of allotment ka easy formula type ker members ko educate kerna hoga
Please advise me I was applied 182 share of Rs. 191100 in ASBA offline but my Account balance Rs. 185000/ So ASBA will cancel or no? My Application rejected Or no
Only one lot of 14 shares will be allotted to successful applicants decided by lottery no matter how much you have applied. Exchanges should mention no of applications received in retail category in their sites as no of times is irrelevant
But seeing the last date of IPO and listing date . ALL last 10 IPO got listed within 15days Kelkar -14 days Indigo-11 CCD-14 Tejnaksh-15 Patdiam-11 Vksson-15 Bella14 Vishal 15
Listing should be within 12 days, excluding weekend & holiday, after closing of issue as per SEBI rule. Come Jan''16 and it will be within 6days. I hope that makes it clear for you. Also, 29th is the probable listing date per RHP.
if final retail figure of approx. 2 is right, then for 42 shares applied in single application , you sure to get 1. If what arun says is true, its excellent. Surprisingly retail not over subscribed hugely compared to earlier like snowman, shemaroo, sharda etc
New SEBI retail allotment rules are changed since last year 1. If application recieved say 2 lacs then first they will allot 14 shares to every one and left over shares will be allotted proportionately to higher lots application for 2 lots to full lots
2. If 5 lac applications are recieved it will require 70 lac shares ,then not possible to allot 14 shares to all applicants as this will be above retail quota , so they will allot 14 shares by lottery to all applicants.
This system you can work out for all IPO , Unfortunately BSE /NSE have not updated software to give application recieved in retail portion
I''''m really confused after going through some posts. Why everybody will go up to lucky draw?? Say retail subscription is 5 times If I have applied for 10 lots then 2 lots is guaranteed for me. Those who have applied for 1 lot their chance of getting allotment of 1 lot is 1/5.Similarly for 2/5,3/5 probability for applicants of 2 lots 3 lots respectively. Am I correct??

you guys are getting the probability wrong. First of all no of application in reatil appears to be 5.07 lacs as posted by someone in the main messageboard of this forum.
Probability that an application carries for being successful is around 61 % i.e. 0.61.
If you have applied for two applications then by mathematics of probability
a. chance that both your application is rejected is 0.14
b. chance that you will be allotted at least one is 0.86
c. chance that you are allotted both the applications is 0.38
d. chance that you are allotted exactly one applicaion is 0.47
Dear Amit! Thanks for your reply. But I think the allotment is done based on the number of times subscribed. Whats the relation with no of applications? That''s the point i m not getting to be very honest. Regarding probability I''m still ok with my understanding. If a person applied for 2 lots in one application and retail subscription is 5 times then he can be allotted max 1 lot with probability 2/5. This is what my concept.
Actually the current rule is ... the company will try to allot everyone at least 1 lot. Number of applications required to completely subscribe the issue for alkem lab is 3.13 lacs. As number of applications is more than this clearly everyone cannot be allotted one lot. So a lottery will be held and 3.13 lacs applications shall be chosen (irrespective of whether someone applied for 1 lot or 14 lots) out of 5.07 lacs. Clearly the probability is 3.13/5.07 = 0.617 i.e. 61.7 %.
Your calculation of probability is not correct as the basis itself is not correct. All the issues in last 2 years have been decided this way only. If still not clear you can mail me on amiitkt@yahoo.co.in
Thanks Amit for educating me :) I was ignorant about this new rule.Away from IPO activity for quite a long time. Basis of allotment has changed.Applied for full lot in both the IPOs.Lets hope I get some allotment :).
People making wild guesses on listing date. Generally its 16th day from close. As 25 Dec is holiday , it should be 28. Anyways all the best to all. I applied 1 lot in both.
You are welcome arun. Just make a thumb rule to apply only one lot when the demand is high . APply more than one lot only when the demand is weak in retail and you are still very bullish on the company prospects. Applying for full lot in ALkem will not enhance your chance better compared to a one lot application.
For Alkem, probability of a particular application being successful is 61 % as communicated above.
Similarly, For Dr Lal Pathlab, probability of a particular application being successful is 46.5 % approximately
