There''s a price discovery session. After that circuit will be applied for IPO''s. Check Wonderla or Snowman etc for better understanding.
"For IPO size up to 250 crore, the price band in the normal trading session will be 5% of the equilibrium price that is discovered in the call auction, SEBI said. For an issue size of more than 250 crore, the price band will be 20%. However, if the equilibrium price is not discovered in the call auction, the price band in the normal trading session will be 5% and 20% of the issue price respectively, the circular said."

The circuit filter applies to the equilibrium price discovered pre-listing on the listing day (I.e. before 10am on the listing day) and not the issue price.
I am very scared.. Sensex and Nifty are falling day by day.
If these continious and Nifty breaches 7400 mark Then there is a great possibulity that Alkam and Dr Lal both lists in discount inspite of over subscription.
First thing first I am not a Technical Analyst but I saw two Trendline of Sensex & Nifty from some reputed people. Both touched the trendline but closed above.
We may break that but I am pretty confident that Alkem won''t list at discount but I will be happy if it does and I will buy in Kilo''s.
What would be the allocation rule when it''s so highly subscribed. Will everyone get it in some ratio based on oversubscription or it''s lottery based or both combined(ratio + lottery).
When applications are more than the available lots, as minimum one lots must be issued to retail applicants as per rule of SEBI, lottery is us-ed. If the applications are less but a little oversubscribed then all will get one lot and then pro-rata. In short it''s not worth applying for more than 1 lot in almost all IPO''s as you don''t want more bad share & you can''t get a lot of good share.

People Septa , Pinkyjain(without space :p), Eagle eye , Nasir ji and few others are doing great and helping a lot. At times, the outcome might be against the advice.. Data OK.. As it says, Nobody can tame the Bulls i.e Market.. It''s unpredictable. We need to accept it. I have logged in today just to Thanks and appreciate the support that you guys are providing. Cheers!! Keep still supporting! Hail Grey Market!!
Thank you Bro. I was very positive on Monte Carlo as the rumor was price will be around 250-400 range and later realized nothing was left in table by promoters and asked people not subscribe. Some people went on to abme and M Gupta. M Gupta almost stopped giving his reviews. Yes, IPO is a probability game but you can do a lot to minimize the risk & I know the pain of loosing money and never recovering it. I didn''t experience it but I saw my friends loosing everything and not selling the shares as selling them will cost them more in brokerage.
