Opened 2 demat account last month..nice instant opening...simple apps but futuristic grow oriented

Currently holding 18 demat Accounts with groww.....since October 2020....
Only disappointment is the you can place pre-open orders for IPO.... which is a bummer.
In other perspective it''s free and good for multiple applications.
Its.free to Operate ..you pay when you transact, no additional charges.

In case of ipo Is it allowed in groww to generate TPIN based otp before 10 AM so that shares can be sold at 10 AM ?

Pre-open not allowed, and you can verify the shares before market opening..or a day before....if you see shares on dashboard.

Selling in pre open is a BIG deal, so it''s big NO for me. Being free does not matter if you are applying in IPO regularly and making money. ( PS- I have an account with them and will switch over to anyone else. Transferring shares through CDSL is easy).

@Monster brother how do u manage .i.e receiving otp from them or receiving money from their bank accounts as money from sale of shares will go in their bank accounts only ...please reply

Out 18 accounts...17 are non earning individuals/ not under any tax slab. If IPO does not have listing gains then share transfer, if there are listing gains then sell and transfer money. although i do ask for otp, as i login and enter TPIN. Verification is done a day before. Not all accounts are Alloted at once..so not that difficult. Max ALLOTMENT recived was 7 accounts at once. And as we all know good IPOs don''t even alloted.😅

2 jagah pe account hone chahiye... 1 growww / zerodha / samco jese online account me( jo log kum dalali per limit access dete he) ... 2nd physical office wali jagah pe ( high brokerage / news base item/ access to all type of stocks and ipos like sme and all).

However, when it is coming to bidding in IPOs, only one demat account to be used so as to be treated as valid application, failing which the Registrar may reject both the applications.

So that means registrar will reject both the applications even when it belongs to two different people with different pan card and different brokers but having a common mobile number.

So even mobile number has to be different when applying in IPO from two accounts. Right?

Mobile Number does not have any impact on applying IPO. It is your PAN card that makes the difference. Which ever Broker you wanna choose, You can do it. But One IPO application can be submitted on one PAN card. if you do submit more than one application on same PAN card. All will get rejected.

if you have linked same Mobile Number with 2 different PAN card of different broker(s). Still you can apply 2 applications though it is one mobile Number.
For Example only :
1. Mobile - 99897XXXX1 with Zerodha broker on PAN card - AFRC1XXXX - Can be applied successfully.
2. Mobile - 99897XXXX1 with Fyers broker on PAN card - BFAC3XXXX - Can be applied successfully.

You can open as many as accounts using one mobile number. They is no restriction. You have to just provide self declaration whether number belongs to you.

Hi Mr. Amit,

1. An individual can have as many demat accounts as they want with the same Name/PAN/Phone Number. But they should be with different brokers.

2. An individual can open only one trading and demat account with a broker.

3. You cannot use the same phone or email for multiple adult accounts with a broker. For example, a husband and a wife account cannot use the same phone and email address if you have their account with the same broker.

Note: These are broker-specific restrictions. Some brokers may have a workaround. Pls, check with your broker.

4. For IPO applications, only one IPO application is permitted per PAN number in an IPO.

Yes. NII category division is good thought but not sure if 2-10lk will serve the purpose or a bigger band like 2-25lk is better, because small band will bring in advantage to the one who gets multiple applications shifts from Retail category 😂

SEBI analysed oversubscribed IPOs during January 2018 - April 2021 and observed that in 29 IPOs, on an average around 60 per cent applicants in the NII category did not get any allotment 😲🥴

when is this going to be in action? or is it just like retail application 7.5k type of proposal which is not happening

Leveraged HNIs will think twice to apply If lottery comes into NII category 😜😂

The same should be done in case of RII and these should be divided into 2 categories like one, upto 50k and another between 50k and 200k.

Having observed that even in NII category, the medium scale investors are not getting any reasonable allotment, SEBI has thought of its responsibility to do some justice to them and thus this new proposal came to lime light. I am sure that this new proposal is likely to help the said category to get a reasonable due quota. The injustice hitherto done to them, as they may thought, can be driven away. However, discussion on the new proposal is very much appreciated. Thank you.

Why not remove lot for HNI catagory? For ex if issue is subscribed 100 times and I have applied for 200 shares then allot 2 shares at least. Why there is a constraint on a minimum lot size ?

@IposOnly in that case, the work on the side of registrar, brokers, banks, etc increase... for example, 1500crore ipo, 15k lot size.. 10L people getting allotment of 15k each... now instead of that, 100L people will get allotment of 1.5k if IPO is subscribed 10 times... and 1000L people will get allotment of 150rs if IPO is subscribed 100 times... more work for all the people on the other side!

This HNI-Retail type quota makes sense but lets see how it is practically implemented and how it affects the allotment in upcoming ipos

May be from SEBI point of view, 15k is the minimum amount one should invest in a single stock for reasonable benefit to the effort

Regarding retail investors, I don’t hesitate to say that the present status needs no changes like reducing the minimum amount or making in to two groups ( up to Rs.7,500/- one group and Rs.7501/-to Rs.15000/-another group like that ).
