Here is some usefull facts abous ASBA from ICICI bank site:-
IPO through ASBA

.What does ASBA stand for?

ASBA stands for "Applications Supported by Blocked Accounts".At the time of bidding ,your account is blocked to the extent of the bid amount and debited only at the time of allotment. This facility is being offered by ICICIDirect in affiliation with ICICI Bank Limited.

.Is this facility available for all IPOs ?

No. Application under this facility can be placed only for Book Built Public Issues .

.Which category of investors are eligible to bid vide the ASBA facility ?

This facility is available only for Resident Retail individuals; ie Resident individuals bidding upto Rs1,00,000/-. NRIs and HNIs cannot avail this facility.

.Do I need to execute any additional documentation for availing this Facility?

No. You need not execute any further physical documentation to avail this facility.

.How can I bid under the ASBA facility?

For placing a bid under the ASBA route, you will have to :
Login to your icicidirect.com account =>
Click on the "Trading Page" =>
Click on the "IPO Link" => a new checkbox "ASBA" has been provided on this page. Presently, for all Retail investors, ASBA and "Cut off Price" option under "Bid 1" is ticked by default. You would only be required to enter the "Quantity" and accept the "Terms & Conditions" before submitting the bid.

For bidding under the normal process you would be required to uncheck the "ASBA" option and proceed as usual.

.Can I withdraw the amount blocked for ASBA bid application?

No. The blocked amount cannot be withdrawn. However the same will be lying in your linked bank account till the allotment.

Thanks

Hai Pradeep (394), you have applied one lot. The retail portion is subscribed nearly three times. So your chance of getting is 1/3. It is a lottery for you. It is as simple as that.

Shares bought under employee quot has a lock in period of one year.
The reason for low subscription of employee quoto is the result of the market's performance during the last one year. The confidence has not come back.

Sell 50% of shares allotted to you on listing day...
And keep remaining 50% shares invested...

It will hit 250 before Diwali...

Happy Investing....
