do not put all of your money yet
for the past 2 months, I have always felt that this is a sell on up market rather than buy on dip.
You can deploy a small portion of your savings(capital) in
1) IT( Sasken(midcap), Infy or HCL(largecap), TCS for buyback purposes but it will go down after the record date as it is not cracking right now and other IT giants are)

2) I have added Paytm : corrected significantly( huge lending potential)

3) ICICI Lombard or HDFC Life : best in Insurance( poised for growth)

4) HDFC AMC or ICICI or Aditya birla group AMC : best in Insurance( poised for growth)

5) ITC( undervalued)( FMCG business is growing) but do this after the budget, govt might increase taxes on cigrattes and it could fall

6) Heromotocorp, tata power : EV theme

7) ICICI or HDFC Bank : proxy to Indian economy ( though they haven't corrected much)

8) SBICARD : trading at 52 week low and fundamentals are fine

9)Yes Bank : haven't corrected much nor has it given any returns in past 1 year, cleanup has already happened, professional management is on board now, no shady stuff, I believe chances of it going down is low and it might prove to be a multibagger in future

Disclaimer : I have Yes Bank, sbicard, icicibank, sasken, infy, hcl, paytm in my portfolio

HNI Choice
Bid in Shareholder upto 2 Lakhs and above 2 Lakhs in HNI
Above 2 Lakhs in HNI and 2 Lakhs plus in SH not allowed

Retail Choice
Bid in Shareholder quota between15K to 360Cr and upto 2 Lakhs in Retail

Is my understanding correct, Admin, experts. Or is there restriction on SH quota for retailers upto 2 Lakhs

Senarios

1. For shareholders you can place 1 application upto 360 crores under SH category and another application upto 2 lacs (retail) but cannot put more than 2 lacs(HNI) if you place order more than 2 lacs in SH Category.

2. For shareholders you can place 1 application upto 2 lacs in SH Category and another application of any amount ( if below 2 lacs than retail otherwise you will be considered as HNI)

Means you cannot put more than 2 lacs in SH Category as well as HNI category. Eligible employees if a shareholder can put another application (third one) upto 5 lacs along with the above scenario
342. Jagdish Rai |   Link |  Bookmark | January 24, 2022 4:02:46 AM
@Lokes. Thanks for your detailed explanation about application by share holders of AEL. You have mentioned that the SH quota subscription can go upto 50 times. I was just trying to understand how is this possible because every share holder can submit application for a maximum of 13 lots, so subscription should not go beyond 13 times. Would appreciate if you could kindly throw more light on this point.

@Jagdish Rai: As mentioned in below link, shareholders can apply any amount above 2 lakh also, upto 360 cr. There is no limitation here to apply only 13 lots in shareholder.

I have 4 different demat account for family members. Among these in only one account I have adani enterprise share. And I have fund for only 5 lots. So which is most preferred to get allotment.
(1) 1 lot shareholder and 4 retail
(2) 1 lot retail and 4 lots shareholder
Or anything else?
341.5. Haran |   Link |  Bookmark | January 23, 2022 10:21:24 PM
If we have more funds better to apply with Shareholder as it is not based on lottery and for retail its better to apply 1 lot in each account to increase the chances of allotment in lottery type.

@Lokes bro is my understanding correct ?

As Per RHP, Below is the explanation regarding shareholder category (whoever holding shares in demat on 19th Jan -> whoever holding even 1 or more AEL share in his demat on 19th Jan ):

1. If you are applying in shareholder category under 2 lakh amount, then you can apply one more application(from same demat/same PAN) either in retail category or in HNI category also.

2. If you are applying for more than 2 lakh amount in shareholder category then you can apply one more application in retail category also (from same demat/same PAN) but you cannot apply in HNI category.

3. Allotment in shareholder category will be done in proportionate basis like HNI category so allotment is not guaranteed with 1 lot of shareholder application.

4. Shareholder category will be identified using PAN number, so you can use different Demat account also to apply in shareholder category (still better apply from same demat account where AEL shares were hold on 19th Jan).

5.You can apply via ASBA/UPI anything in shareholder category upto 2 lakh amount and i think you can apply via third party ASBA also in shareholder category (but better use same bank/upi in shareholder category until not possible).

Conclusion 1: So if you are shareholder, then apply 1 lot in retail and apply max possible amount (means as per funds available with you) in shareholder category. Max Limit to apply in shareholder category is upto full quota amount means 360 crore.

Conclusion 2: And those who are shareholders also and having good funds, then can apply in both shareholder(upto 2 lakh) and in HNI category for max amount(like usually applying as per subscriptions/gmp etc in hni)

@lokes sir Thank you very much for precious advice ,,, i want to know that how many times or lot or share should i apply in HNI as i have only 8 lac for HNI

@Share Tiger: As you said you have 8 lakhs for HNI then you can apply 8 lakhs after converting into shares/lot count. Simple. Means 53 lots means 3445 shares you can apply at 230 rs (cut off is not allowed in HNI so you need to enter 230 price)

Out of topic question,
If am short of funds for applying ipo or buyback,
Which is the easiest way & best way to get loan.what is the rate of interest they offer (each option wise)

339.15. 🙏 Verma Ji 🙏 |   Link |  Bookmark | January 24, 2022 6:32:45 AM
@arca
You may consider these preference wise
1. Gold loan from any PSU bank. Rate of interest 7-8 %. Pros: Partial/Prepay anytime without any charge.
2. Loan against FD if you have any. Rate of interest 1% above your FD rates. Repay anytime.
3. Use Overdraft facility if your bank provides it. Repay anytime.
4. Personal loan from ICICI or HDFC providing@10.5%. In icici you can prepay but can't close loan account before 1 year. Don't know about hdfc.
5. You can also pledge your mutual funds or shares to bank (not all banks gives loan on pledged funds) as well as to your broker (almost every broker gives loan against pledged shares). WARNING : Before pledging please read it's terms and conditions thoroughly only then take decision because it's very risky affair.

@Admin: @Team Chittorgarh: Can you please check and reply once about your below point mentioned on this ipo page. As i have checked in adani wilmar RHP, its mentioned that shareholders bidding above 2 lakh can also apply in net offer upto 2 lakh (means in retail). So have you checked below point with linkintime registrar or have written based on previous ipo shareholder category observation? In sbi cards ipo, it was like this only as you mentioned, but i have gone through SBI cards RHP also, before posting my analysis on shareholder category, just to check the difference and found that in SBI cards RHP, it was mentioned that shareholder applying above 2 lakh can not apply in net offer(retail/HNI) but its different in adani wilmar RHP. So please check once and update this thing or please provide reasoning for this for everyone's benefit and understanding.

"Eligibility for IPO applications across category
AEL shareholders (bidding up to Rs 2 lakhs) can also apply under the retail category. "

I have been benefitting from this wonderful community since over 15 years. And I don't intend to spam here, but just acknowledging the credit where due.

Over the years, chittorgarh.com team has been so considerate that they are visibly trying to proactively incorporate the obvious queries (such as IPO performance tracker now shows CMP too, SH category application, SH+RII application possibility) that most of us have in their basic template itself. On this SH category note, compare Adani Wilmar IPO page with say SBI Cards IPO or Equitas SFB IPO, and you would know what I mean.

I do have couple of suggestions that, I feel, will add value to the visitor:
1. Chittorgarh.com home page may perhaps additionally include columns for price band (very imp) and GMP, and issue open and close dates may be clubbed into a single column.
2. A little more vigilant moderation, as sometimes IPO pages are flooded with buyback discussions of other stocks (e.g. AGS IPO) - which actually defeats the purpose of the IPO as well as the BB discussion, as who would know TCS or MOIL BB is being discussed on AGS IPO page?! I don't intend to point fingers, to err is human, but to realise that one has erred is essential, just sharing what I feel.

Thanks Team Chittorgarh

As usual, the Team has incorporated the suggestion pronto! And it looks nice, didn't clutter it.
Regarding the moderation bandwidth, have you considered making some of the reliable users as moderators? Could even be pro bono, maybe. I'm sure many users here have the time, mkt and site experience, as well as willingness to do so - especially if they get the coveted Moderator tag of such a vibrant community. :-)

@Dr.Bhavy: Regarding subscription estimates, i have given some estimates here:
https://www.chittorgarh.com/ipo/ipo_discussions.asp?a=1173&c=491293&ap=0
Everything is guess work only in share market, based on experience/knowledge/facts etc, either it's ipo listing price, secondary market shares prediction, buyback AR guessing, or ipo expected subscriptions. No one can predict anything with 100% guarantee. There will be many people guessing subscriptions but one needs to wait till third day to get better idea before applying, like most HNI people does.
