I believe If you would have applied via private equity investor they would have given you stake as 110 lots is 110,000 Shares, may be you could be next big bull.

1) In the present SME IPO, my application money is just Rs.1.54 crores. There are several people in this Group who apply for more than this amount. We, such people, will normally look into short term gain only. I will simply come out on the listing day itself, if I get allotment, and go for another IPO which is coming in queue, so that my funds get rotated and not stuck up. This amount is actually lying as linked FDs and giving interest.
2) Going for private equity stake is a long term story and at my age of 67 years I will not go for that. Further, it needs more free funds say 5-10 crores.
3) Your idea of private equity stake is recollecting my memory of olden days. In the year 1984 or so, I applied for some shares of Auto Meter company (likely IPO candidate at that time) on Private Placement basis, of course not private equity stake, but it never came for IPO and I lost that money.

1) No OD. This is linked FD facility. We can apply for IPOs using linked FDs by blocking them. While applying, keep sufficient cash balance in the Savings Account to honour debit instructions in case of allotment. If there is shortfall in Savings Account, the latest FD(s) will be broken resulting interest penalty.
2) If not allotted, the blocked amount will be unblocked and we will continue to get interest in the blocked period also.

Presently, I have account from last 1 year 9 months only. Last IPO allotment received was for Rockingdeal. About 198 IPOs applied and 61 allotments received. The Rockingdeal is my 61st allotment during this 1 ¾ years. All not with Rs.1.54 Cr. Earlier, it was lesser amount. I will apply for good and competitive IPOs only.

& It makes very interesting proposition. If I consider 1 lakh return for each highly subscribed ipo allotted For 1.5 cr, it becomes 61 lakhs in approx. 2 years, whereas the interest amount for 1.5 cr loan would be around 24 to 36 lakhs. Still, it is a good deal.

​@PRathi ICICI bank provides this facility. Interestingly, only allotted amount is reduced from linked FD, and not whole FD is broken.

after looking into multiple BOAs, I am sure this can be a good idea if subscription lies between 200-300 times in hni category.

@PRathi: Several Banks. In my case Indusind Bank. But there is an issue now. Up to my 60 allotments through ASBA of Indusind Bank, there was no problem. But on 61th allotment of Rockingdeals, there was an issue. Though I had enough cash balance of Rs.7 lakhs in Savings Account to honour the debit instructions for Rs.1.4 lakhs due to allotment of Rockingdeals, the Bank had made wrongful Auto Sweep of my 14 FDs aggregating to around Rs.63 lakhs and keeping the entire amount as unused till today. I have complained to the Bank and requested for reversal of Auto Sweep. If not done, I will escalate the issue up to RBI level.

@smokingkills, @Ferros:
1) You please add interest earned amount also together with profits on sale of allotted shares because you will be getting interest, if you manage the FDs unbroken by keeping sufficient cash balance in Savings Account to meet out the debit for allotted shares. It means, you are eating the cake and having it too.
2) Earlier, I was in the ICICI BANK only and at that time the facility what you are mentioning was not available. Having fed up with ICICI BANK/ICICI Securities, I shifted to Indusind Bank. Can you not avoid breaking FD(s) by keeping sufficient cash balance in the Savings Account for allotted shares?

@DeepakKamath: If there are one or two applicants in this category size of 110 lots, no chance. If there are three persons, then there is a chance of 1:3 on lottery.

@DEVBULL kindly share Bank name which provides such facility. I was thinning to take OD route but your process seems better.

​@DEVBULL I have IndusInd account, but it does not allow me to use the FD amount for ASBA application, are these regular FD's or you have an account variant like " IndusInd Bank’s Indus Multiplier Max Savings Bank Account" which creates auto FD's ? Please guide how to get this enabled.

1) This facility is available for regular FD(s) linked to Savings Account.
2) While applying for FD, you can straightaway tick the check box available for linking facility.
3) If not done at the time of applying for FD, you can now log in to Indusind Net Banking, Go to Term deposit, Go to Link Deposits to Account, Select Deposit(s) to be linked and press Submit button. Work is done.

@cyberdude cutoff time for ICICI is 3 P.M. i think, not sure, because i never wait upto last minute for applying. If i am sure then i apply around 1:30 - 2 PM otherwiae i do not..

I have done Enquiry in Kotak. they are saying that this FD Fecility is not Available.

Some option they can do FD at Very Lowest rate, and cannot Apply IPO through that Amount and Flexi FD is at time Breaks if you get Allotment which is going anyways going to happen in year's time.

My banker (RBL) says it won't work or as in it will break fd at time of application itself. Also few more forum on net says these type of account with sweep in facility are treated as special account and any ipo application made through it will be rejected

Can you pls reconfirm If you have rec'd allotment without breaking fd. Do confirm bank names again.

Kotak offers ActivMoney, which is a sweep facility FD. I have been using it since some months. Working fine. FDs are auto-created in multiples of 5k/10k for a fixed period of 6 months, and broken in multiples of this only on LIFO basis whenever required due to any withdrawal/debit.
It seems whoever guided you is himself not knowing or did not understand your query, but you can opt for it through the app, no need to visit branch etc.

Only downside is, the interest rate is 7% p.a. only on those funds which complete 6 months and mature. Otherwise rate of interest is significantly lower, even lower than saving account interest rate for some period.

How to get confirm Allotment

​@GN Today, I got call from my Kotak bank manager & she confirmed that there is sweep in facility available which can be enabled from mobile banking. I haven't tried though.
@AskYourRight In ICICI, my balance got less than minimum balance once & that amount was adjusted from linked FD itself. FD still has remaining balance.

​@Cyberdude You have to manually create & it has to be that specific kind of FD. The condition is that fd time must be over 1 year in ICICI. I have asked in Axis and HDFC too. They don't have this kind of facility.

​@Cyberdude ICICI bank - Money Multiplier FD. No other terms and conditions. I think there is no limitations of tenure also. You can make the FD for less than one year also. I have made FD for 15 months due to better interest rates.
