You could invest in a Direct Mutual Fund Plan online on the website of the stock broker or the Mutual Funds Utility (MFU) portal. You can also buy direct mutual funds offline through a physical application form, and submit it to the investor service center/branch of the AMC or its registrar and transfer agent (RTA) like Computer Age Management Services (CAMS), and Karvy etc. RTAs register and maintain detailed records of the mutual fund investments of investors for the convenience of mutual fund houses.
