The IPO subscription reflects the number of times an issue has been subscribed. IPO subscription numbers are calculated for each category of investor and also on an overall basis.

For example, a company offers 10 lakh shares but has received applications for 50 lakh shares from the investors. In this case, the issue is subscribed 5 times (5x).
