But you could open a trading account with a different stockbroker with the same name.

For Example;

Sanjiv Singh (PAN # AHAPK1900J) cannot have 2 trading or demat accounts with Sharekhan.
Sanjiv Singh (PAN # AHAPK1900J) can have a trading and demat account with Sharkhan and another trading and demat account with ICICI Direct.
