Cement Industry In Chittorgarh

Rajasthan state has extensive reserves (about 2500 MT) of cement grade limestone and with the present production capacity of nearly 13 million tonnes per annum of cement.

At present Rajasthan state has 15 major and 4 medium cement plants with an installed capacity of 16.00 MT of cement per annum. Chittorgarh district is the main cement producer in Rajasthan. Below is the list if few of the cement industries in Chittorgarh:

1. Birla Cement Works (A Unit Of Birla Corporation Ltd.)

The Cement Division of Birla Corporation Limited has total 10 plants at seven different locations, Satna & Maihar (Madhya Pradesh), Raebareli & Kundanganj (Uttar Pradesh), Chanderia (Rajasthan), Butibori (Maharashtra) and Durgapur (West Bengal). It has two of there seven cements plants in Chanderia (Chittorgarh, Rajasthan) - Birla Cement Works (BCW) & Chittor Cement Works (CCW).

The BCW and CCW have received the IS/ISO 14001 certificate, an international recognition for 'Implementation of Environmental Management System'.

2. Aditya Cements Works Ltd.(A Unit Of Grasim Cement Ltd.)

With a total grey cement capacity of 13.12 million tonnes per annum (TPA), Grasim is among the largest producers of grey cement in India. Grasim is the 9th largest cement producer in the world.

Aditya Cement Works is one of the cement plant of Grasim Industries. It was build in 1995 in Shambupura, Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. The plant capacity is about 1.50 million TPA. The plant is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and are certified with ISO 9001 for quality systems, and ISO 14001 for environment management systems.

3. Wonder Cements Ltd.

The cement plant has the capacity to produce 6.75 Million Tons per year which is located in Nimbahera, District Chittorgarh, in Rajasthan. In technical collaboration with ThyssenKrupp and Pfeiffer Ltd. of Germany, the world leaders in cement technology, the world leaders in cement technology, the state of the art manufacturing unit was established. Special effort was taken to ensure that the plant upholds the latest environmental norms and with the help of a reverse air bag house, ESP and a number of nuisance bag filters, the plant remains clean & dust free.

Wonder Cement has ambitious plans to further expand its current capacity to 10 Million tons by setting up a third production line for which land and layouts are ready.

4. JK Cement Ltd.

JK Cement has an experience of three decades in cement manufacturing. From the beginning in 1974 with a capacity of 0.3 million tonnes at Nimbahera in Rajasthan, today JK Cement has 6 kilns of different capacities with a combined annual capacity of 7.5 million tonnes. The three cement units having aggregate capacity of 4.5 million tonnes are located in Rajasthan at Nimbahera (capacity 3.25 million TPA), Mangrol (capacity 0.75 million TPA) and Gotan (capacity 0.47 million TPA) and one unit in Karnataka at Muddapur with capacity of 3 million TPA.

JK Cement is the second largest manufacturer of White Cement in India, with an annual capacity of 600,000 tonnes and value-added building products such as Wall Putty with an annual capacity of 700,000 tonnes and the plants are fully automated.
